In partnership with the Google News Initiative, the Resource Library was developed to fill a gap identified by our community: a lack of centralized resources for learning more about the convergence of news and product. Our goal is to assist in the development of talent in product management in media, contributing to the overall sustainability of the journalism industry around the world.
The NPA Resource Library gathers over 300 open learning resources about news product thinking in order to help our community stay informed, evolve, and learn from the best practices in the industry. From stakeholder management to ideation, from webinars to e-books to news articles, find the best resources to help you thrive in the unique discipline of News Product. All items were curated by a global team of journalists with experience in Product and sourced from links shared on NPA's Slack Community.
Across the library, you will find two badges marking some of the resources available:
- The NPA Original Content badge marks resources that have been produced or commissioned by the NPA, such as case studies, guides, the Product Kit, among others;
- The Recommended on the NPA Slack badge marks resources that have been shared in our Slack community across different channels and sourced specifically for this project. This is a way of celebrating the participation of our highly engaged community.
The Resouce Library prides itself in being a community effort. Our general goal is to keep building this library as a knowledge hub for the whole NPA community.
